Glow Up: The Benefits of Dermaplaning and Why You Need an Esthetician on Your Skincare Journey

Hey friends,

I’m so excited to share a new video with you all! In this one, I treated myself to a facial that included a dermaplane service and a hydrating mask, and let me tell you—my skin has never felt better. But beyond the amazing glow I walked out with, this experience reminded me just how important it is to partner with an esthetician on your skincare journey.

Why Partnering with an Esthetician Matters

Your skin is unique. From the way it reacts to environmental factors to how it changes over time, no one’s skin is the same. That’s why working with an esthetician is such a game-changer. Estheticians have the training, knowledge, and hands-on experience to assess your skin’s needs and develop a routine that works for you. They can help you navigate the overwhelming world of skincare products and treatments, making sure you’re using what’s truly beneficial for your skin type.

Partnering with an esthetician means you’re not on this journey alone. You have someone who can recommend treatments, adjust your skincare plan as needed, and keep your skin looking its best. Trust me—there’s nothing like knowing your skin is in the hands of a professional who’s just as invested in your glow as you are!

The Benefits of Dermaplaning

Now, let’s talk about dermaplaning—one of the services I received during my facial. For those of you who aren’t familiar, dermaplaning is a treatment that gently removes dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (aka peach fuzz) from the surface of your face. This helps to reveal smoother, brighter skin and can even allow your skincare products to penetrate more effectively. Here are a few of the benefits I love about dermaplaning:

  • Exfoliation: Dermaplaning removes the top layer of dead skin, which helps with cell turnover and reveals fresh, new skin.

  • Smoother Makeup Application: With no peach fuzz or dead skin in the way, your makeup goes on smoother and looks more flawless.

  • Instant Glow: The treatment gives you an immediate glow, leaving your skin looking radiant.

  • Hydration Boost: Paired with a hydrating mask (like the one I had), dermaplaning allows for better absorption of skincare products, meaning more hydration for your skin.

  • Non-Invasive: It’s a gentle, non-invasive treatment, so there’s no downtime—just immediate results.

Disclaimer: You should not, I repeat, YOU SHOULD NOT DERMAPLANE AT HOME! Dermaplaning is a treatment completed with a blade and technique. Using an eyebrow razor or shaper is not the same thing and puts yourself at risk for infection and cuts.

Why You Should Consider It

Whether you’re looking for an instant glow, a smoother canvas for makeup, or just a little self-care, dermaplaning is a great option. When paired with other skincare treatments like a hydrating mask, the benefits only multiply. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend talking to your esthetician about whether it’s a good fit for your skin.

So, if you’re thinking about stepping up your skincare game, I can’t stress enough how valuable it is to work with an esthetician. They’ll help you create a personalized plan, introduce you to treatments like dermaplaning, and make sure your skin is always at its best.

Again, be sure to check out my latest video to see how the entire facial experience went and let me know if you’ve ever tried dermaplaning or plan to soon!

Until next time, take care of your beautiful selves!

Tia 💖
